    Imr 4007 ssc

I just saw the recall on this and I’ve had an unopened container in my stock for years. I wanted to trade it back to Hodgdon for 700 X but IMR doesn’t make it anymore. Can anyone suggest a good cast bullet Powder that either IMR or Hodgdon make? I’m used to using Alliant and I don’t often lead towards IMR or Hodgdon for cast loads. Any help is appreciated

Might be a real big help if you were willing to tell us what caliber you intend to use the powder in ? ? ?

Yes I must agree that would be helpful. I’m currently thinking about something in my 308 with a 180 to 200 grain bullet. And I have an old K98 that my dad brought him from the Mediterranean and I’d like to play with that a little bit. I have the entire spectrum of Alliant powders but I just want to get something from Hodgdon for this Powder they recalled because it would be free.

If you want some " modest loads " 1,100 - 1,400 fps a can of Universal ( it is a cousin to Alliant Unique ) would work well for you.

If you want to speed things up a bit 1,400 - 1,850 fps, H - 4198 is your friend with cast bullets in the calibers you've listed.

They sent me a check for my powder. They didn't even give me an option to swap for another powder.

Well my return email stated the same thing. On their website you had the option of picking another Powder. Once I submitted the photograph of my lot number, the return email stated that they would pay me $35 for a 1 pound container. I still have enough to last me in my lifetime and yours too.
