running out of things to do

since the shtf ive canned baked beans, chili, spaghettis sauce, made a pile of pasties, made up 50 lbs of bratts, 50 breakfast sausage and 50 Italian sausage and have my freezers and pantries stuffed full. Told the wife that even if this ended we woudnt have to go shopping for 6 months. All my brass is loaded up have a ton of bullets casted and all I have left to do till the snow goes and I can get to the range is watching tv! What else can I cook or make???

Not much of a cook myself. But a few things you may want to entertain to keep your hands busy.

Sharpen every blade you own that needs it.

Polish up holsters, belts, shoe's & boots.

Call old friends you've not seen or spoke with in years and catch up on life.

The wife and I have vastly different viewing tastes when it comes to TV. Add to that, we only have basic cable TV. It's not all that often I'm found watching it.

I've got more than I can say grace over when it comes to doing things in my shop.

    Good luck!

I feel your pain and raise you soon Lloyed. I have backed enough meals for the entire week. Wife has made cakes and other goodness. We are just two people so now what. I have cleaned up my gun room and made a huge pile of items to sell since I will not be getting a check and can not work. Now try not having or being able to get internet or cell service at my house. Same goes for cable or tv. Add mud season to the mix and I am bouncing off the walls. I have taken up hydroponic leafy greens growing. I have already started most of my gardens plants inside. Lots of people who have come to my area are sick this keeping me home no matter what.

I think today I will load hot glued bullets in the 44 and plink army men in my basement while listening to the radio.

    Stay safe my friend.

Make surgical masks and send them to New York , for instructions and pattern
google search homemade surgical masks , several links appear and video .
These can be washed and sterilized and reused .
New York seems to have an unlimitless need for them .
Probably any hot spot could use them , local nursing homes , the need is there .

    Found a link www.craftpassion.com/face-mask-sewing-pattern/

On the masks any and all will help. But the truth is we have pallets full of masks. The governor is holding on to them for later. We have a boatload of beds, generators, masks and ventilators but for some reason he will not destitute them. He does not care about any ny er unless they live in his precious New York City.

Grab a set of snowshoes and go for a walk in the woods. Start on some wood projects. Get some downfall and teach your kids/grandkids how to carve a wooden chain. Order a book of how to braid paracord and get a 10,000 ft roll. Learn a second language. Read a bunch of books. Write a cookbook for your family. Keep a good diary, we never thought we would see crazy times like this.

    Pray for spring!!

Spring sorta landed here a bit early and it's been nothing but A's and E's the last week.

I looked around at all the things I need or want to do.
I don't know where to start.

For now, I think I'll try to work up enough energy to take a nap.

That sounds like my kind of work, working up to a nap! I learned at a very young age never to tell my mother that I was bored. She would find me something to whether I liked it or not!

I've been looking at making bagels. I've never been and have no intention of ever going to NYC, but hear that they have the best bagels. I figured I would try several different methods and see which I liked best. It looks to be a diverting passtime.

That's where I'm at, and great bagels or not, I ain't going back to NYC ever again.

The best NYC recipes I've found for them call for yeast, a little bump of extra gluten, let them rise-
then drop 'em in boiling water for a minute or so (they float- so 25-30 seconds on each side) before you bake them.

I got a small can (1 gallon) of plain/pure gluten from a on line bakery supply place.
2-3 table spoons of it makes the dough more 'stretchy' and the bagel will have that 'chewyness' like the ones up there.
It makes pizza dough come out like the NY pizza shop style does too.

Without the extra bump of it, you can't toss and spin the pizza dough up in the air like they do on TV

you got that right. They just made it an issue to attack trump. NY and Coumo want every penny and every mask and ever respirator in the country. They could care less that its spreading all accross the country and if they tie them all up what are people in other states 2 weeks from now going to fight it with. Until they get them all trump is trash to them and even if they get them they will just find a new way to bash him Coumo is just postering for a run for president in the next election. I feel for Ny and nyc but its here in my state too and in most of states guys here live in. Personaly I think fox should quit airing coumos daily tear fest.

Thought about making bread but don't even have space to store it in a freezer or fridge and hate to go though all the work and mess for a loaf or two of bread.

Luckily, most of March has been nice and snow free, so I have been able to get in the woods and start a new bow tree stand. But the last week has been rainy and I am getting cabin fever. The end of the week looks better, just have to try to avoid the mud.

I just saw him on TV , 5 minutes ago , Tuesday 3/31/20 @ 12:00 pm (noon) news conference , saying he didn't have enough of anything and the federal gov't should buy everything he needs and send it to him....
I'm not sure I'm buying his story ... Donald T. has a few questions also but none of the invetigative news reporters seems interested in checking those stories ...Sumptin's Up .
