    Ahrends Grips refinish Part III (conclusion)

    Well they're done. After about 5 or 6 coats of tung oil, I let it cure then buffed it with fine bronze wool and Renaissance wax. Two coats of wax and here they are



    And back on the shiny long one



    In hindsight, I wish I had gone just a shade browner, but compared to the original light pink



    I think they look a lot better now. Plus, the tung oil/wax will only get better the more I handle it.

    Finally here's a shot of the 27-2 with my K22. It wears the same grips in American walnut, which I ordered unfinished and did the same tung oil finish on.
