Paul Harrell spoke on this subject. The gun stores are picked clean. That .22 you bought fifteen years ago and shot two boxes of shells through is there in the closet. It beats the hell out of no gun.

The local gun store by my house actually closed as they had zero inventory left. Not a box of ammo or a firearm to sell. He just got restocked and is open again

Saturday the day before Easter, I was at the local place where most people get their ammo. At least 10 different kinds of 22lr. The only thing sold out was a super deal on 9mm. But lot's of other 9mm. We go to the grocery store...Stuff is cheaper now than ever. Gas is obviously real cheap. So many benefits of Covid hysteria.

    I am a bit envious

No 22 or 9mm here. Eggs are 4.59/dozen. Diesel is $2.89/gallon.

I was driving home from doing errands with the wife yesterday. Almost no traffic...no cops around. So 50 mph in 25 zone. Zooming around town. Was telling my wife about all the good stuff... I said "What is not to like about the Covid hysteria?" She replied, "Yeah, unless you catch it" She has a point there.

No excuse for not having stocked up on .22 when it was plentiful. Same with 9mm and .223. Factories are closing because of this virus outbreak. And they might not open back up for months.

Yeah, I guess I'm stuck in the past, wishing that things had stayed the way they should have been. Democrats have gone insane is a given.

So, I am getting coupons online still from Dunhams for quite good deals. Last week they had Armscore 22LR at 1000 rounds. 2 bricks, for $32, and for the first time they had that new Ruger 22 revolver advertised for $189.99. I wanted some. But there are no Dunhams stores open in Michigan, I searched, and there are not any open. I drove over to the Dunhams on Bay Road here and there is a big fat sign on the door letting me know they will be closed for an unknown period of time and also , there is no cash and there are no firearms left on the premisis. BummerBUMMER!!! Now I am upset!!!! DEMOCRATS

There was a short run at walmart for 22 ammo. Now they are well stocked again, At least the 4 stores with in 30 mins from me. I been stocking up since the last ''shortage'' I usually buy a brick every time i go to walmart. I shoot alot too. So it is not going to waste. Without counting exactly what i have on hand i estimate 25000 rounds.

I recently got back into shooting 22. I would keep a couple hundred rounds on hand for the odd critter but never really needed to have that much on hand. I went to a turkey shoot at the range and got hooked on 22 again. When I go to Walmart i swing through sporting goods and look for Winchester AA 28 gauge shells, and CCI Standard velocity. I buy all they got. I keep 100 or so rounds of the CCI Quiet LR for nuisance critters around the house. I try to keep some CB Shorts because my Henry will cycle them and they are pretty quiet. I don't have nearly the stock of 22 I want, but i am back to buying more than I am shooting again. I do have a shoot coming up that very well may deplete a great deal of my stash. I am considering getting some bulk packs to see how well they shoot and reserve my CCI for when it counts.

I like the winchester 555 bulk ammo. I can hit shotgun hulls at 100 yards with my xt22. I have very very few duds with it. And when i do get a dud 2nd shot they fire.

Box stores low on 22RF ammo?
    Start reloading your ammo:

I started doing reloads back when they were last scarce, smokeless and black powder

The only ammo I’ve bought since Obama panic is CCI standard velocity. The only reason I bought it was to avoid using up expensive target stuff for plinking with S&W 41s & Hi Standards. I bought a lot of ammo in early 2000s at auctions from businesses that went under. The bulk ammo pre Obama is as good as 50rd boxes now. I have more than I’ll ever shoot and only thing I would buy would be STD Vel.

I learned my 22rf lesson during the Clinton years. And every presidential election and disaster since then. So when ammo shopping I'd pick up a spare box or two of my favorite 22rf ammo. What's that old saying? "Those who forget history are doomed to repeat it". I'm not rich,in fact far from it and outside of an occasional beer or good cigar there's my only two personal vices. But when I want to shoot my 33 rifles I'm also going to have the ammo to load them with. 10 cents a round so a 550 bulk pack just cost you $55 bucks at the gun show. Think he paid anywhere near that?. Probably bought it from a guy who cleaned out the shelves at the local wally world. 350 round pack of federal auto match ok that will be $35 bucks plus tax. Those where the prices at local gun shows last election we had. Plan ahead and prepare. Frank

Last week I bought a couple of 50 count boxes of Federal American Eagle 22lr... $1.99 per box. That store has about 10 different kinds of 22lr. The store across the street even has 22 shorts. Just about every store that sells ammo has plenty of 22lr in stock around here. I guess the hoarders have them coming out of their ears.

During the President Hussein 22 shortage/hoarding highest I saw was $50 to $55 a carton at gun shows.

Other people being "stupid" really isn't the right question is it? You're a smart guy; can you understand that a lot of other equally smart people just don't have the space to store months long quanities of food and common items for themselves, never mind any extended family?

No matter how smart they are, not many people have the surplus funds to buy excessive quanities of anything! And there, by the grace of God, go I!

I know it's common for financially well off people to think, "I'm smart and have plenty of money, why doesn't everyone else?" I'm 80 and have seen a lot of living; I've observed that it's more often random luck rather than smarts that makes the end differences in life. And I've seen some really dumb guys do quite well (most of them are Democrats). ???

Ditto. I think a lot of hoarders were expecting to make a bundle off idiots in the Obummer years and many probably did, but not all.

I'd bet a lot of hoarder's shelves still groan under their previous overload so it's unlikely all hoarders will over buy again. AND, while there's a chance Trump might lose it's not a done deal like O'bozo so the fear of Democrats isn't as strong as it was then. AND, it's unlikely that the government will again be buying/hoarding billions of rounds of anything that goes BANG again so whatever shortage we do see will probably be of short duration.

Liberty and guns only have two natural enemies; rust and Democrats.
