Anyone mount their pot and lube-sizer to the same board?

I picked up an old RCBS Pro Melt and an old RCBS LAM 1 within the past six months (I need to clean them both up since they both have a decent amount of rust). I want to cast outdoors and was thinking of mounting both to a piece of 3/4" thick plywood so I could move them out of my garage and set them up on a table to cast and size.

Anyone do this? Any reason not to do this?

I use big C clamps to hold my LAM1 to the bench after mounting it on a 1" pine board. It works fine that way. I just would not cast in the rain though.

I've never seen anyone mount them together.
By the time I finish casting, I'm tired and my back hurts. I have just enough time and energy to clean up and put away my casting equipment. It's usually dark out.
Next step is to apply the Hi Tek coating and bake.
    Final step is to size.

    Mine are on a table.
I like plenty of elbow room around them so I use nuts & bolts for the sizer.

The pot can sit by itself OK.
When I need the sizer, I move the pot down to the floor and bolt the sizer down in its place.

Just don't size when the lead is hot.

I have thought about mounting some hanger bolts into a stump and packing the lubesizer outside when it was nice.

I can tell you are either young or in good shape. I need to keep the weight of stuff down LOL

I see no advantage to mounting them together. I like having a bit of space around the melter. YMMV.

I have never used a LAM but one thing to consider is what you find to be a comfortable working height for each tool.

If you mount both to a board...they will be a bear to move .
Casting pots don't require bolting down , being able to move the pot without a board and lube sizer stuck to it will be much preferred .
