Some 3-4 weeks ago my wife Cindy was recovering from a cold, had a lot of really thick sticky mucus in her chest that was not coming out.
Lots of hard coughing. Best we can tell she coughed so hard she fractured several vertibray and caused a compression point at the L1, L2 point which was putting pressure on her spine. Started as "twitches" in her thighs that would not go away. Got worse. Doctored twice for it, finally third guy ordered a spine x-ray which showed the problem. MRI and CT scan and 16 more X-rays followed along with a nice visit with a good doc at the spine clinic and a referral to Neurosurgery.
We see the surgeon tommorow at 8am. One way or another hope to have her in surgery this week.
Spine clinic doc talked about a kind of "cement" they can inject in there to build up the bone, stop the compression.
Anyway any and all thoughts and prayers would be appreciated. She has been wearing an 1800$ back brace since Friday which has helped a lot.
Course she cursed it like a drunken sailer most of the day. Life has been a bit interesting around here.
I am not letting her do much other than feed her cat and take wild swings at my head.
Hoping for a positive outcome here, but Cindy has been a hard worker all her life and she has used and abused her body.
And she is starting to pay the price.
