Extra lube sizers????

Is there a reason to keep more than one size of lube sizers?????
I wouldn't think so, but just thought I'd ask.
Nothing else to do with the lock down.

Why not, different firearms use different lubes but same size. My sizers are both the same LAM1’s. 50/50 in one carnuba blue in the other. Darn lock down would be terrible. Happy I still get to work!!!

Probably. I size my 223 boolets in a 0.224 sizer, and my 45-70 boolets in a 0.459 sizer.

I take it you mean more than one die of the same size.

Not that I can think of.
The things don't seem to wear out, if ya have extras- I'd trade 'em off.

If its the whole press, I'd use 2 if I had room on the bench, and they'd be set up for the 2 different cals.
I mostly load. In my case it would be .30 rifle, and .45ACP.

Yes, is good to have more than one of the same size.
First if you have some old Lyman (Ideal) sizers, those without the o-rings
They are not hardened and can be cut for larger sizes.

Now to answer your question. the H&I dies (sizer dies) have many holes
and depending on how far down you push the bullet into the H die, you
can plug unneeded holes with lead shot and prevent lube from getting on the
nose, under the base, and other unwanted places. Just mark the die for
a particular mould number.

I use Lee push thru for sizing coated bullets and RCBS for lubed bullets. So I have several of the same size in different calibers.

The last RCBS sizer I put into use was bought at a estate sale, I paid $12.50 for it.
Too cheap to turn down!! It now has a .358 sizing die in it after reconditioning.

It is number four on the bench.

Still not sure of your question, I have 7 lube sizers, 2 Lyman, 2 RCBS, and 3 Stars and of course I use the Stars when ever I can. I have far more die sizes for the Lyman/RCBS so they get some use. I keep the most common sizes installed in each sizer.

I have 2 stars set up, one with large caliber bullet feed and one for small caliber bullet feed. It's just easier than changing feeding mechanisms when changing dies.

Not sure I understand the question either. I have five sizers, and a few duplicate dies as well. You never know.��

Have several of the same size.
Seems to me to just be taking up space.
All have the o-ring, so I guess new.
Also have some RCBS dies, same size as the Lyman.
RCBS have less holes.

It's not to hard to open them up a bit if you want to size boolits 1 or 2 thousands larger.

I discovered that just because a die has .357 on it ...that doesn't guarantee the boolits that goes thru it will be .357.
After I started measuring sized boolits , never owned a tool to measure them with until about 15 years ago, every die I owned lied to me ... .357 might be .3575 or .3569 . I had to sit down and write on each die container what size it really was . .311 was .3115 and 312 was .3117 .
My advice is to measure them all even if marked the same size I would bet money they actually size different sizes . Whatever the diameter is marked on the die...don't believe it , measure sized boolits and write on the container what the true size is .
Small prescription pill bottles are just the right size for Lyman H&I die container . Put a new label on it and the true size ... a great use for all those pesky bottles .

I have ten lube-sizers and who knows how many dies. I bought one casters life time collection and ten or so from a friend who was disposing of the guns and gear for a family member. I have many duplicates. Selling one at a time just isn't worth the trouble and cost of mailing. I have sold sizers and included a choice of dies in the past. but now, selling a lube- sizer requires a large flat rate box and that's $20.

A proper castboolit shooter will have a lube/sizer for every caliber he shoots along with an adequate number of appropriately dimensioned sizing dies should he have more than one firearm in that caliber.

I have no need for duplicate sizing dies. I do have two sizer/lubers. One for smokeless and one for BP.
