Does anyone here have any experience with the Traditions Outfitter G2 Rifle .35 Remington?

I see this available in 35 Whelen but none in 35 Rem.

Hi Andy, For what these cost I would say you have a couple of options, CVA makes several models of single shots in 35 Rem. If you don't mind the plastic stocks. For similar money you should be able to find a NIB or used H&R handi rifle in 35 Rem. or you could buy a Henry single shot in 357 mag. and ream it to 35 Rem. it's been done before and the .001 difference in the bore diameter is nothing to worry about. There are probably others cost wise but those are what come to mind.

I have been on the fence to try a different SS since H&R is gone.
Still haven’t. Henry has some scary stories but they look and feel real good.
CVA ( to me) don’t look as good but seem to be well liked and shoot well.
I cannot decide on caliber. 30/30 makes a lot if sense. ( cast bullet wise) but I’m a 35 cal guy. So 35 Remington is all that & a bag a chips too!!

Why hasn't someone come out with a black powder chambering for these .35 rifles to be formed from common brass?
Would .358 Winchester fill the bill?
.350 Remington?
Thanks for that insight, Jedman. We haven't been successful in finding a Handi Rifle - which we'd prefer - in .35 Remington, or .357 for that matter. We intend to use only cast bullets in this set up anyway so, you're right, the slight dimensional difference won't matter. The plastic stocks are fine and may be an advantage. The Henry is a very nice looking rifle but feels quite bulky to us. Sometimes the joy is in the searching...

The .35 Remington seems like it would best fill the bill here. The power of the .350 Rem Mag and .35 Whelen, and even the .358 Winchester are unnecessary for our purposes; mainly deer stalking. A 16 twist barrel would be paramount.

If I was limited to .35 Whelen, I would simply crank my press handle and produce whatever power level I desired by loading. Mice to Moose. That is the advantage of the bigger case.
Everything's bigger in Texas! : ) We certainly enjoy our .35 Whelen and feel a sense of rich Americana every time we use that glorious round. We'd probably snare the mice to make them more edible and are certain to never see another moose this side of Glory. Your comments are most appreciated!

It sounds like time for a stub job, then! H&R topper shotguns are still affordable and available in pawn shops.

Texas by God, could you, or anyone here, recommend a gunsmith who will do this work? We have a very old but solid H&R 20 ga. and a mint 1990s vintage H&R 16 ga. either of which we would gladly submit for conversion.
