    John Ross PC 500 questions

I am new to the "cannon" community, a 44 mag is the biggest i own and while scrowling through gun broker I found this.

    https://www.gunbroker.com/item/893178927

It looks different compared to the 500 at my local dealer.

Does anyone know much about these?

Yes, I have two. One in the all stainless finish and one in the two tone with black frame and barrel with stainless cylinder. You would be on a completely different level of performance and handling as to anything you have yet fired. While these guns are fully capable of very high performance with the attendant recoil they can be loaded down to "midrange loads" that surpass a full load .44 Magnum all do to larger bore size and bullet weight. Hopefully John will chime in and give the full scoop as they are his idea anyway.

The John Ross 500s have a much faster rifling twist so they will be able to stabilize the super heavy bullets like the 700gn.
If you are not going to shoot the super long/heavy bullets, then you could save some money going with a standard version.

That is a fine looking pistol with a fine name attached to it! It certainly is in demand too.
I have 2 named firearms, my 308, LaVoy Finicum and my Smith 500 snub nose, John Ross.
HOLLYWOOD Collector Left hawg 405#, right one 315#, had my elderly neighbors granddaughter treed and why I got the call. Both charged, one from 20' and one from 40'. Thanks to the good Lord and Samuel Colt I won. May God bless our Lawmen & Soldiers!
