Aguila Super Extra .22 LR

We carry Aguila rimfire ammo at my side job shop and I notice it has a pretty loyal following. It certainly looks like a quality product, which can't be said for much of the lower cost domestic ammo. I picked up some of the Super Extra .22 LR 40 grain ammo to try. Ran a box through the Ruger American and Glock 44 and it shoots great. Accurate as anything else I've tried and cycles the autoloader perfectly. Produces less fouling than most others too. I'll be buying more for sure!

I've ran Super Extra (standard velocity, non plated) in number of my handguns and rifles - shoots great. Aguila claims they use Eley priming compound.

The only Aguila 22 ammo I have shot that wasn't accurate was the 60 grain Triple S type. But that was a barrel twist issue, not an ammo issue.

I shoot a lot of Aguila 22...It's great stuff!

Aquila standard on par with CCI standard in my rifles.

I've only shot a box or two of the standard velocity stuff. The high velocity plated stuff will turn in around an inch in my marlin model 60 at 70 yards with a scope. The sound is very consistent, while not a scientific measurement its an indicator to me of uniform ballistics.

Yep. Stuff smells like ammonia. Stinky ammo.

YES, and the sub-sonic ammo will shoot EVEN better if you weigh them and segregate them!

AND the SuperMaximum .22LR is faster than Stingers. I like their center fire ammo as well.

Eley primed but coal dust powered! Good ammo though.

We use it for our 200 meter matches and it always wins.

I guess I'll have to be the skunk at the garden party. For all of me, "Aguila" and "quality product" make an oxymoron, in my experience.

Aguila's are equal to mini-mags and at half the price! Yep the smell takes a little getting ysed to..

I have gone through a couple of cases of the Super Extra Std Velocity. It is not smallbore target ammo but very good quality. Equal IMO to CCI std vel ammo. My Henry 16" carbine will group 10 shots at 50 yds into .75-.875" reliably. My Bowning TBolt (1980's model) will do the same. My Model 34 S&W Kit Gun (With dot sight) will easily hold the 10 ring on a 50yd pistol target. I've chrono'd it and it is uniform (the older Eley prime is slightly more uniform than the newer Aguila Prime). All in all I think good value for the money.

My 10/22 International loves that stuff. It has a very smooth waxy coating on it I think that really helps with fouling. Also. the best part is that the after shot smell is kinda like super glue. I miss being able to shoot (all ranges around here closed)

I like the Eley primer smell. The SV is very reliable and competitively priced, but not as accurate as I like in a few of my 22s. Still need to run it through all the others.
