    Range scrap jacket bullets

    Processing range scrap jacketed bullets and am wondering how much tin I will need to add to a 20lb pot of molten bullet cores to get to an alloy suitable for my needs. I shoot mostly wheel weights pistol and rifle all under 2000 FPS . Thank you

    Most jacketed pistol bullets are about 2-3% antimony.

    If you add 1% tin it will give decent fill-out and make good soft revolver bullets for mild loads up to about 850 fps.

    Save the skimmed jacket material, pull out any clad-steel jackets with a cow magnet, and you can sell the rest to a scrapper for about $1/pound
