Has anyone done this yet?
Im going to test it out on some of my smaller targets this week if no one has.
Im hoping that it stands up to hits better than spray paint does. I have my doubts and will probably be more surprised if it holds up.

Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition.
Not ever considered that myself. Since you're already there, please bring back pictures.
Good Judgment comes from Experience, Experience comes from Bad Judgment !
Harder to recoat than using a rattle can.
Whatever!
I was gifted some coated steels. it came off no differently than spray paint at the impact sites
Some steel plates come powder coated. It works well for the surfaces NOT shot. Shooting face sheds it at every impact. Looks nice once.
It'll be fine for the back side, the front-- not so much.

OK People. Enough of this idle chit-chat.
This ain't your Grandma's sewing circle.
EVERYONE!
Back to your oars. The Captain wants to waterski.
I had one that came powdercoated. Seemed to dampen the ring until I shot it all off.
Total waste of time IMO. it wont stand up to impacts any better than paint & is way more time consuming & costly.
EVERY GOOD SHOOTER NEEDS TO BE A HANDLOADER.

This brings into question getting a sound profile in the surface via sand blasting to give the coating some traction otherwise it'll slide right off the hard mil scale. Have you ever tried to blast hardend steel? Stainless steel is a MF to blast. If you miss the required profile size the first time, it work hardens the surface so it is more difficult to go deeper. Been there and got the certificate.
The second item that would concern me is tempering the hardness by repeated baking. I'll stick with flat white Krylon myself.
