labeling problems.

i have 30 or so Lyman orange die boxes ....plastic single die boxes.

i've cleaned them with everything i can think of and applied "avery labels" to them and they just fall off.

i've used plain paper labels with 6 different glues and epoxies ....they fall off.

tried clear tape over the labels....they fall off!



anybody got any ideas?

I had the same Happen. I think most avery lables stick on Paper only. You might try to look for Labels stick on Plastic materials.
I use a Brother P touch label maker .

Online Labels sells labels with more aggressive glue.

Sandpaper to lightly rough up the surface?

Clean the box with something real aggressive like carberator cleaner first.

I do that and write on my old boxes with a sharpie-- no problems.

Labels from my Brother printer stick to RCBS die boxes, MTM boxes and Dillon boxes. I don't have any Lyman boxes to try. I would be happy to print you one or two to try.

+3 for Brother. I buy the 4 pack of tape from Costco. Sticks to the poly ammo boxes fine.

Rubber cement might work.

"Permanent" Sharpie. When a change is required, it comes off with WD-40.

Isopropyl Alcohol will also erase Sharpie marker

Careful, some carburetor cleaners and brake cleaners will melt plastic. Use non-chlorinated brake clean

I used it for work several years ago. The label sticks to anything.
I did a test, and put some labels on a tonka truck I have in a Garden display, it's been about 5 years (winter & summer), they don't sun fade and they are still stuck on the truck.

I have some labels that may be Tyvek. I only used one and at nearly 1 year it still sticks. When I have to remove it only adhesive in small amounts remain. I worked in a print plant that used these....they may have some curve but my use on an RCBS box have not shown any movement. PM me and I'll send a few. They are a plastic/synthetic.

I'm using red stucco masking tape, it's plastic, very aggressive but peels right off e on after a long time. It's also great for masking soda blasting stencils.

I gave up on labels on die boxes a long time ago - now a black permanent marker is my best friend. Not as pretty and picturesque but it does the job as far as me being able to look on the shelf and grab the right box.

I'm cheap................China markers (aka grease pencils) are what I use on all plastic containers. Have different colors. Use black the most. White or yellow for dark colored plastics. Easy to erase with Magic Erasers.
