    Nice ingot molds

    Found these ingot molds in the cast iron cooking section of the Shepherd of the Hills factory store off I-44 in Lebanon, MO yesterday. Looks like they’ll cast a 2 lb. ingots. Cost was $7.99 a piece.

    You'll need to post pictures of ingots out of those molds and any identifying marks on the molds.

    I don't think I've seen anything exactly like those. What are the dimensions of each cavity? It's cast iron, right?

    I have 3 just like that and have been using them for about 10 years now. Very handy.

    Yes I am a man of few words. Been monitoring the forum for many years. So much information and I never had a problem that someone else hasn't had before. I met with and sold some Dillon parts to a member who happened to live close by. We chatted and then I decided to get a bit more active. And yes I will post some pics after I pour some alloy into those ingot molds. Looks like they were for cornbread or small cakes.

    Chinese cast iron - 3 7/8" x 2 3/8" x 1" deep. The sides are tapered and the bottom & sides are 1/4" smaller.

    OK, I found an ingot from this mold that was 50/50 COWW/PURE and it weighs and ounce under 3 pounds. It will vary depending on the alloy you pour and how full you fill the ingot mold.

    That’s great. I also use old GI mess kits, the 2 compartment half, for ingot molds but these look like they’ll stack nicely. Thanks for the info.
