Starting to put together an 8x57 on a 98 SR Mauser. Have 8lb of WC872 to play with. Looking for some loads to try once I get this rifle built, which might take a while. Thinking about the Lee Bullet molds since I am on a small income.

Yes. 48 grains with the Lee 175. Superb accuracy. There is room in the case for more powder, but that was all the recoil I wanted. Can hit a 6" gong at 265Y at will with that load. There is a bit of unburned so I do not tip the rifle up between shots and do the "870 flick" when I want to stand the rifle in the rack.
