Try calling them! It is a gas!

One of the better sites is over at the Predator Masters Forum.

Boy Howdy! If strange things can happen they find their way to me. Checked my traps yesterday & found something unusual once again, a Buzzard, man I could have gone a lifetime & skipped the trick of turning that loose! That is one ugly, nasty specimen. But I have to say, it's these things that send me back to the woods. Jim

I'm wondering if it's time to push game and fish departments to reinstate bounties on coyotes. They definitely are adaptable and clever, which means that it's easy for them to overpopulate.

When your area gets the mange the yote population decreases fast, may be several years with a low poor hunting population. Once you see a yote with the mange, naked, no fur, not a pretty sight. They don't fetch much money. Then you have an explosion of deer population, road kill problems.

A buddy did that once.... but only once.
Him and a couple guys went out hunting them at night with a 'critter caller' tape in East Texas.

The guy who was supposed to bring the player forgot it.
So they played the tape on the truck stereo with the doors & back window open,
and sat in the back with the red spotlight & guns.

When a bobcat jumped in the back of the truck with them, looking for that wounded rabbit--
    business really picked up.

Yeah, he learned all he wanted to know about them while he was up in a tree, telling his buddy, "SHOOT"!!!
His buddy was worried, and said, "I might hit you"!

The reply was, "SHOOT!! One of us needs some relief"!

Today on one of the news sites there was a photo of a yote walking the deserted streets of San Francisco. I wonder if Charleton Heston was lurking nearby. GF

I live close to the Indianapolis, Indiana airport and in the last 6 years have killed 163. First year I got 99 rest just a few a year. They learned if I seen them I would reach out and touch them. My favorite round is the .45-70 full case of black using my 1883 Trapdoor or my custom Marlin with 32" barrel. AR-10 does good also. For years we had the big yellow yoti but the saddlebacks moved in and no more big yellows. Now no ground game around here other than mice and the barn cats keep them down.

Trapping coyotes is test of patience, especially here in central missouri (for me anyway)
Trapped this one and 2 others in January, all were caught in the same field, 7 days apart.

    That’s not a coyote; that’s a chupacabra!
Decreed by our Creator: The man who has been made able to believe and understand that Jesus Christ has been sent into this world by the Father has been born of the Spirit of God. This man shall never experience spiritual death. He will live forever!
