Is the nose of the Gould HP wide enough to take a conical HP pin? Would the conical allow it to open at a lower velocity or with a softer bhn more than a straight pin?

My Lyman 457122 is pour from 30/1, pb/sn and loaded over blackpowder. Expansion has never been a problem.

Knowledge I take to my grave is wasted.
I prefer to use cartridges born before I was.
Success doesn't make me happy, being happy is what allows me to be successful.
I cast my Gould HP's out of 95/2.5/2.5 alloy and they expand well with the stock pin.
The meplat will take a #1 drill, 0.228” and still have a little bit of flat before the ogive starts.
I cast my HP's out of soft lead as pure as I can get. Once it is properly powder coated and cured the alloy is running on the polymer jacket as fast as I wish to push it.
I agree expansion is NOT a issue with pin that comes with the mold. It’s all about the alloy.
Bullet designed for under 1400 FPS.
