    Does it matter?

"Finally, brothers, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may speed ahead and be honored, as happened among you,..." 2 Thessalonians 3:1 (E.S.V)

So, is the Bible the Word of God? Is it divinely inspired? Does it matter if it is honored?

If so, how do we do that? By our actions, our speech? Or just by quoting it in forums like these?

Is it important that we honor the Word as individuals? In gatherings? As a nation?

Are there any real practical benefits to honoring the word of God, now or in eternity?

Or are those Christians just making something out of nothing?

    Your thoughts?

If therefore we yield up our temporal property, we at the same time deliver the conscience into bondage." --John Witherspoon, The Dominion of Providence Over the Passions of Men. 1776

"The words of the Lord are pure words, like silver refined in a furnace on the ground, purified seven times." Psalm 12:6 (E.S.V.)

That Bible verse is a call for propagation of the cult. Nothing surprising in that. All Cults, Religions, Political Parties do it.

The greatest honor you can do for a good piece of philosophical writing is to walk the talk. Live a life that models the ideal. Let your actions be louder than words.

Really good question. Most people are too brain washed to give it much thought. Others face too much peer pressure to question. And some really believe the Bible is divinely inspired

I do not know the answer....those who think they know....do not know.

Take the self evident truths in the Bible and hold them dear. If the iffy parts mattered, God would make things clear. God took 500 years between the OT and NT to approach man. It has been 2000 years since He felt we needed more from Him. He has accepted over 400 translations of the Bible in English alone. It is likely close enough....whichever version we study.

    Yup, called Salvation!
propagation of the cult Jesus stated 'go tell others about God and ME'.
There are also verses that state 'don't follow those who say they are ME (cults) - when I come back - you will know'. There will always be a remnant of believers until the day of earth are over.
    Whatever!
