    I had a set of those combat grips on a 686-3. Same problem as you. They didn't fit my hands. I switched them out for Pachmayr grips and sold them.

    Wonder if this is why the Pacs have such a good reputation for recoil mitigation?

    Yes,pretty sure they were made for Lew Horton by S&W. At one time Lew Horton would send you a letter if you sent in or called in the serial number. But not all 3" 24-2's were sold under the Lew Horton banner. Over stock were sold by S&W. Frank
