I have a rebarreled BSA Cadet in 357 MAX it shoots great but the extraction of the 1.6" long strait walled case is not great. It extracts the fired case about a 1/2" and you need to pull it out the rest of the way with your fingers.

this one is built on a Canadian cadet 22lr ,that was converted to cf and rebarreled with a GM barrel and spits the empties over the rear sight when cycled like the 22 was before .The extractor/ejector is the 22 type opened up for the 357 case half moon style not the 2 fingered as the Ozzy 310 cadet uses
Fired a friends 357 max Ruger many years ago in my youth. Ouch. Way too hot in a pistol but would probably be ok in a rifle. My first Martini Cadet was a .357 magnum, a pleasant rifle to shoot, scoped and accurate. But my second Cadet in in .32-20/310? is a real sweetheart. No scope on this one, just original sights and wood. Great little rifles.
have seen one that a fellow run in a 8mm neck reamer and no need for heeled bullets .It was straight walled too
One in 357 Mag. A fun gun to shoot, especially on gongs at 100yd.

My .32-20 brass looses the shoulder after a couple of firings. I use .30 carbine dies to size them.
A good deal of misinformation here on Cadets ....if the rim recess is deepened to 32/20 specs ,any Cadet will take a 32/20 ...and most ,if not all the 1908 delivery Greeners will take a 32/20 case without any alteration whatso ever...No cadet ever had a definite end to the chamber ,simply a conical transition to the rifling....32/20 cases have a very thin neck ,and consequently no alteration is needed to use these case and .318,or .320 dia bullets in a 32/20 case .Nor is there any neck in a Cadet chamber ,the cases are straight taper......Some are thinking of the 32/20 which does have a small neck.

Here’s what my chamber cast looked like compared to a fired case with a bullet just pushed into it. My 32-20 brass chambers just fine so possibly the chamber rim has been messed with too. Very neat old rifle.
