    Correcting a 1917 front sight?

I have a 1917 s&w shooter grade that hits to the left. Examination of the front sight shows its bent and when corrected should be poa/poi with 45 ball.

Best practice to make the correction? Lead ingot anvil and soft face hammer?

With that short sight radius, it will not take much straightening to get significant change in POI.
