i've been thinking about getting a c&r license. i like old rifles, preferably the 91 - 98 mausers, but i'll take the swedes, springfield armory, mannlicher and whatever else. my complaint is the fees that the ffl charges. the fee is $20-50 per rifle(1898 and up). i found a guy that has the ffl and he charges $20 per rifle. i could do the c&r for $30 for 3 years, instead of $20 per rifle.
i know i'll have to get a book to record the rifles i buy. https://smile.amazon.com/BookFactory...s%2C160&sr=8-3
one question that i have is this........
i have a 98 mauser that was built in 1944. it has an original barrel but it was d&t to put on a redfield aperture sight. its stock is not the original, but its a fajen or bishop stock. the rifle serial numbers are all the same. i paid $20 to the ffl dealer (also i paid $120 for the rifle). is it a c&r license rifle?
