What is the twist rate of your revolver?
Generally speaking, a twist of around 1-48 and below will suit conical's and a slower twist will favour ball.
I have a 50cal Ardesa Buckhunter in-line with a 1-20 twist that is very accurate with 250gn REAL's, but doesn't shoot that well with round ball.

You could always try it and let us know how it went...
In general pistols have a faster twist and will handle either. I have used the Lee real in my Rughr Old Army and it is stable and accurate. It did require a front sight change to zero @25 yards. I looked but cannot find twist spec on your revolver, so my statement is a best guess, no more.
