Could I Coat My Round Balls

I put a light coat of lube over the ball after it's loaded. I use 60/40 beeswax/olive oil.

Not directly in response to your cap & ball issue, but I have a .54 ML that had a rusty barrel. Bob Hoyt "refreshed" the surface rust in the barrel away and gave me round bottom groves. Looks Purdy now but has grown a few thou. I'm about to PC some .535's and see if the coating will make up the difference.

Did a test batch of sling shot ammo for the kids. I wish my .45's coated as easily. My 6 year old grandson is happy with the results.

Yes, but lead exposure to a kid is kind of like a concussion. Assuming one gets better and is said to be healed and "Normal", who can say? If the problem had not happened he might have been another Einstein instead of just normal.
