    Powders for calibers

Kinda curious as to what people use in the different calibers they run. I mainly shoot J-words in anything .308" and .223" but on others I shoot boolits.

I use the following in the following

    IMR4320
    308 win (ar10 loads)
    30-06
    .223 Rem (also use cfe223 and AR-Comp)
    30-40 Krag
    303 Brit

    IMR3031
    40-65 Win

    Trailboss
    44-40
    40-65

    Unique/Bullseye/BE-86
    45 Auto
    380 Auto

    Power pistol
    9mm

I am on a budget so I usually stick with what works. but I am always curious if there is something out there I am just not thinking of that might be better.

IMR4320 was the first powder I started with loading rifle rounds. and its reliable and usually easy to get my hands on. Unique was also the first I used for pistol loads. I don't really have a bias I just hate buying something and then up hating the way it shoots and never use the rest of it.

what are you all using for what you load?

    I use Unique in everything from 25-20 to 9 X 57.

    Hanguns; Unique, H-110, Alliant 2400, IMR-4227, 296, Bullseye, Red Dot and SR-7625(?)

    Medium bores, 270 to 9.3 I use, depending on the cartridge, in no particular order: IMR's 4227 3031, 4198, 4064, 4895, 4350, 4831. Hodgon; 4198, 4895. SR's 4759, 4756 and I think it's 7625(?). Win. 748, Reloder 7

I use Trail Boss in my 450/400 and 25-20

    Black Powder of various grades in; 45-70, (when I had one), 45-90, 45-100, 40-82, 40-70, 8.15 X 46R, 9.3 X 57RD, 500BPE and some I've forgotten.

Every one of those powders has worked for me and, in more than one cartridge.

I use iMR 4895 in 6.5x53r n350 in 40 cal sw. I bought a bunch of pistol powder for 480 Ruger and they still shoot in everything. Need some 4759 badly for that old rifle.

If you are on a budget, Promo is about as cheap as it gets. I've been able to find an accurate load in just about anything as long as you don't try to hotrod it. Not going to cycle an AR10 though...
