    a new peice on the drawing board

    a 12.4" bowie in sleipner steel
    0,2" thick roughly 7,1" blade

    very nice.
    somewhere ive got a whole bunch of that tool steel that you say you're using. and last time I saw it the pieces were just about the right size for making blades. any average Joe can harden it with a furnace or torch and bucket of oil. gonna have to figure where I put that stuff.
    not like that ats-34 that has to be done by an expert

    heattreating temperature is 1886F for Sleipner
    annealing att 1000F 3 cycles @ 2hrs each for a hardness of 62 HRC

    Very nice. I've been able to do some very nice knives myself as long as I don't have a recurve or kukri style. Pics of your grinders would be helpful.
