Eastwood vermillion powder shake and bake performance?

Has anybody tried the Eastwood vermillion powder? It looks pretty close to Chevy orange and I’m a huge Chevy fan but I don’t want to waste my very limited bullet money on a powder that doesn’t shake and bake well.

Eastwood powders are ok from my experience But I always go back to Smoke's powder for best coverage! Not sure where he get his stuff but it is Damn Good!

Found it thank you! He doesn’t have one over just the vermillion but he does have one where he mixes it with other colors and it winds up being mostly vermillion on the bullets. Looks like it coated well so I’ll be ordering some in the near future. I will put up a post with results once I get it and have a chance to play with it some.

Just a little tid bit. If he mixed it with another color it may not have worked on it's own.
I have Eastwood Harley Davidson orange and it doesn't work very good.

Money may be tight but SMOKES is the way to go, like they say his works for shake and bake.

My Eastwood "Chevy orange" didnt work well for me. As I remember, coverage was uneven or kind of clumpy, same with lime green. Ford light blue and mirror black worked perfectly using the same shake & bake methodology.

Something with Orange and yellow for me. Red gave minor issues but Smokes seems to have cured that. Don’t know why but three different brands of yellow and orange tried and none are satisfactory.

    Good luck

Chevy orange, don't your bullets leak oil all over? Just use Ford blue and everything will be better!!

They might leak a little oil but they will out run a similar bullet in Ford blue any day. The only real problem is that they tend to drift toward the closest gas station

Kinda like my old Ford 460 Interceptor, it would pass everything on the road, except a gas station.

If you are looking for colors not carried by Smoke try Prismatic Powder. If you stay with the solid tone powders you should be okay for tumble coating. Yellows are a coverage problem, just like yellow paint is. Just look at the application guide on a selected color and you will find a lot of useful information like type, gloss, hardness, etc. Prismatic will ship up to 5 pounds in an order for $6.95 next day.

I was looking at Eastwood primarily because it is fairly cheap but not HF cheap and I can get it off of amazon with free shipping.

You need to know your source when buying powder because powder can go bad, especially if not stored properly.

The powder can lose its ability to take a static charge; I gather heat is the culprit. I personally store my powder in airtight glass jars in a garage freezer. I have used powder stored over 5 year this way and it worked as good as it ever did.

Moisture is the biggest powder killer for OUR uses. Extreme heat in storage can cause clumping and even completely ruin/fuse powder. Most MFG's recommend ditching powder after a year (but keep in mind that's for commercial use)
