Gail and I wish to thank all of you who responded to our request for prayers on behalf of our Daughter and our Son, who, as you know are both in a fight to beat cancer.
Laurie got lung cancer about 6 or 7 years ago. She had surgery and they removed part of one lung. She did quite well for a couple of years, but then the cancer resurfaced in her brain. Since then she has had surgery, then 2 gamma-ray treatments, radiation and chemo. She then suffered an increase in the masses left in her head. She underwent another surgery from which she is now in recovery. Apparently, (from what I understand), the most recent surgery found tissue growth but not cancer at the site of the original brain tumor(s). She has done extremely well to have survived this long and the fight continues.
Our Son Rob was diagnosed with Multiple Myelomas in his spine, skull and arms and it was significantly developed when they finally found it. This occurred in the spring of 2019 and since then he has undergone aggressive chemo therapy, culminating in one final massive dose of chemo followed by Stem cell treatment. While his fight is far from over, he survived his treatments, albeit while experiencing terrible pain and nausea, but he is still with us.
Gail and I are so thankful for the outpouring of prayers and mental support you all have provided to our kids and ourselves in this time of need. Please keep out kids in your prayers as this fight goes on.
