A little off topic but I visited Sportsman's Warehouse and picked up 1000 Winchester Large Rifle Primers for $22.99. I got 2!

The potential for igniting a primer while seating is the reason I always have a closed top die in place when seating them.

Oh and yes, I have had a LOT of crushed, sideways, upside down primers in my time but never had one go off (knock on wood).
The only ones I have set off when seating were in my old Lee loader that you seat with a hammer , you gotta be careful when you give a sixteen year old a hammer and things that explode.

WSPs; used a ton of them. They are slightly too big to consistently drop in my Frankford arsenal vibe tube filler. They tend to fit tighter in .40 brass than Federal or Remington. I still have a ton of them (ok, maybe only 6k) but I won't be buying more. If I get a stoppage on progressive loading, many times its the Win primers that didn't seat all the way.
