No one has posted a recipe lately so here's one...
SHRIMP LORRAINE
1 1/2 cups thinly sliced celery
1 1/2 cups chopped onion
4 oz. can sliced mushrooms , drained
2 tablespoons butter
1 can condensed cream of shrimp soup
2 tablespoons dry sherry
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon red pepper
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 - 1 1/2 pounds of peeled , frozen or fresh , shrimp
1/2 cup sour cream
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
3 cups hot cooked rice ( or hot cooked egg noodles)
Saute celery, onions and mushrooms in butter until tender. Stir in soup , seasonings , sherry and bring to slow-low simmer, add shrimp and heat low simmer (do not boil) until shrimp are just cooked (do not over cook shrimp) blend in sour cream and parsley Serve over rice or noodles and garnish with a little chopped parsley . Hot french bread is suggested .
