I just picked up a 540xr and excited to shot it. Just found out it's missing the apature so need to talk to guy I bought it from. Want to clean it up before shooting and need to remove bolt. Anyone know how that's done. Plus maybe how to adjust trigger. Could probably figure it out but if I get info even better. Thanks!

Push the safety forward to remove the bolt. That is if the 540 action is the same as the 580 series. They are like mini 788s. The 540XR may have an adjustable trigger but my 581-S does not, so I can’t help there.

The screw in the back (behind trigger) is to adjust the sear.
Weight of pull and over travel are the front 2 screws.
