Sorry for your loss. I'm sure you gave Curly a great life and he helped you. I have a 13 year old, and the one I had before him was 17 when she had to be put down. It's never easy to lose a great friend. Hopefully you will find another great friend, soon.

Sorry to read this. Hate to read these actually. But part of life is death and none of us make it “out” alive.

I dread the day. Have experienced it it’s never fun and the current is expected to be the worst. My first “lap dog” 19# Lahasa and my first female. She has me wrapped around her lil paw. She is 11 now hoping for many more but know it’s coming.

The joys they bring are priceless.

    May god bless.

You folks are the best. You all really gave me a lift. In time, I want to get another little buddy. It sure is hard to do without one. God's best to all of you!

I am very sorry for your loss, I know Curly would want you to go the shelter and adopt another four footed friend.

I am sorry sir. I have had to put down a few but Ruger, my great pyrenees in my pic, will absolutely kill me. We all dread the day but enjoy the unconditional love they give us.

    I totally understand your pain.

I had a black lab that was the sweetest and most loyal dog ever. At 14, I had to take him to the vet and have him put down as his hips gave out and he couldn't walk. I swore I would never get another dog again because the pain was nearly unbearable.

We had another dog named Rowdy that is a lab/great dane mix who was my daughter's dog. When her husband got orders to Japan a few years ago, she begged me to take him in as no one else could. I reluctantly agreed.

He is now 13 and struggling to get up and getting worse every day. I've got him on CBD oil, hip and joint supplements, and the best dog food.

It breaks my heart to see him deteriorating and I know the day is coming soon when I will have to have him put down. It will absolutely break my heart and I'll probably have to take time off of work to deal with the pain. Just an absolutely amazing dog and loved by everyone that meets him.

My heart goes out to you. I have felt the pain you are feeling. Just know that Curly gave you all His love and hopefully in the future there will be another like him that will give you all His love. My deepest condolences to you!

I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I have two, and I fear the day that happens to them. They have been great companions and they definitely have a very distinct and unique personality just like people. They are family. A person once asked me if I talked to my dogs? They thought that was crazy. My response..."Well...what am I supposed to do when they ask me questions....just ignore them? That would be rude..." Dogs never lie about love....(They will lie about who fed them last).

Dog's give unconditional and devoted love and they ask for so little in return. Here's something I wrote about my dog for a song writing class I took shortly after retirement.

Who loves you more, your dog or your Bride?
Here's a little test, take them both for a ride.
Twenty to thirty minutes around town should do.
Then open the trunk and see which one still loves you!

    RIP Curly...trusted friend...

It sure is tough loosing a faithful friend. I plan to always have a dog as long as I'm able to see after one, I've out lived a bunch of them, and they all hold a different place in my hart
having different personalities. You'll know when it's time to have a new friend. God bless you.

Like others, and you..I know the feeling. It do hurt. Lost my redbone Maggy recently, she would have been 14 this month.

My condolences, sir. We've lost both of our Beagle girls, I still miss them every day.

Rest in peace, Curly. You will never forget him, as it should be.
