    Manual casting machine

Anyone seen something like this before?

For those of you not great at norwegian, the pics are quite self explaning.

The idea is not bad but I suspect the pot to be a bit on the small side for using two 6 bangers from Lee.

Too bad they weren't taken care of. A lot of rust.

That’s cool. Most the rust is on the sprue plate. That thing would clean up nicely. Do you want to ship it to North Carolina, USA?

That is quite interesting indeed, wonder how to get the sprue to fall off and reliably get the projectiles to drop out.

Clean them up and get to casting

Someone put a lot of thought into that build, what with being able to slide the pot from side to side and opening the sprue plate and all. The rust would clean up relatively easy. The moulds themselves are aluminum, some cavities look to be heavily smoked.

I think they did a good job too, i noticed the smoked moulds, it helped me out when i ran lee 6 bangers.

No reason this setup couldn't be replicated, a stepper motor to slide the melting pot across the sprue plates, automatic lead pour..... Air cylinder to cycle the sprue cutters.

    Just say'in :P

I did not place a bid since I'm a comercial caster and have a Bullet Master but I m thinking about it. It could be nice to have something like this to make some oddball boolits. If I run a coupple of Lee pots in adittion and ladeling over lead the pot should bee able to keep up when running the machine with two 6 bangers. I'm a bit curious about boolit and sprue release though.....

Oh well..... It's listed as sold so I was too late anyway. The construction looks so simple that it should work! Listed by the seller, it was used by a privious comercial caster up north some years ago...
