    Zink wheel weights????

Are they a mix alloy, or plain zink?????
I was thinking of using it to try and zink plate metal.

    Or it might be zinc.
Spell check doesn't work in Chrome, so if something is spelled wrong, it's just a typo that I missed.

The vast majority of American made zinc wheelweights are cast with ZAMAK 3, which has 3.5-4.3% Aluminum and 0.25% Copper, if it is RoHS Compliant. Foreign manufacturers may use a different zinc alloy.

Could they still be used for plating? I have wondered about maybe using some to plate brass.

DISCLAIMER: I have done absolutely 0 research into the idea. I don’t even know if it would be possible. It was just an idle thought as I was sorting wheel weights one day.

Good question, I have no idea.
I have researched a little bit about ZAMAK 3 as a adjunct in boolit alloy.
It should be easy to research it in regards to Plating.
    good luck.
