    .490 round ball

I sat at my casting bench yesterday and cast 250 175gr .490 round balls with my RCBS2 cavity Mold. Used a trick I read here about sooting the mold with a BIC Lighter, the balls fell out of the mold without having to tap the mold handle a single time. I will be shooting these out of my TC Black Diamond ahead of Triple 7. Just have to wait for a dry day to finally get to the range (closest one is 65 miles away.

I have used a wood match, as well. Now I just use spray graphite instead. Both work great. Nothing better than boolits that fall out on their own!

I bought an older, well used Lyman .490 4 banger from a fellow forum member. I think the mold has a slight patina in the cavities or something because it positively rains nice round balls. They just roll out of the mold onto the towel I let them pile up on. Shoot really well. The last outing I banged out about 700 of them, so I think I am set for quite a while.
