technically thats not a bowie, its more of a indian (dot not arrow) fighting knife, I think that style was also big in Thailand.

    Nice kukri!
Here is one I made, technically not a bowie, but similar shape (full tang). 1095 steel with tapered tang, carbon fiber handle with copper bolsters. The sheath is made using copperhead skin I killed and tanned. Copper bolsters, copperhead...get it?

    The top one maybe?

The bottom a little wide in the blade.

This is a Bowie knife. 12" blade, bone handle. A drunk cowboy traded it to me for a pint of Wild Turkey long ago and far away. Handmade, probably in Pakistan or some such place. My daughter owns it now.

I'm no knife expert by any means, but the KaBar has always looked like a Bowie to me, 2A-Jay.

I have my KaBar I brought home over 50yrs ago. It is a good knife and holds excellent edge but is on the big side for most field dressings.

    .

Some that I re-handled & made sheaths for (the table tiles are 6"x6")

My San Francisco gambler's bowie with ebony grip & German silver & leather sheath (w/Cold Steel dagger)

    My "scalper" pattern w/stag grip

My re-handled (exotic wood) Blackjack Tartan Dirk

    My re-handled (bone) Texas Bowie

Now I lay me down to sleep

It seems that about any clip point knife style made these days is tagged as a Bowie knife for some odd reason including my CRKT Bowie which I certainly wouldn't call a Bowie knife... though I really like the knife:

    https://www.crkt.com/minimalist-bowie.html

While I am no expert, my understanding is that the Bowie knife had certain characteristics:

    - a large clip point blade often sharpened on the back/top edge
    - a cross guard
    - a coffin shaped handle being a common feature

    Wikipedia definition:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bowie_knife

On that basis I'd figure the Ka-bar would certainly qualify along with Texas by god's pic (a classic Bowie style) and several of pietro's knives with the bottom pic again being a classic Bowie style.

However, just my opinion. Different strokes and all.

    Longbow

ID:	256896. The Gerber was bought in 1991 at Smokey Mountain Knife Works. The factory rep. Was there and I talked myself into a lower price on it. It is worth a lot of money these days. I finally did something right for a change.

I think from memory Bowie is famous for having only one knife, I may be wrong sadly the Bowie name seems to get the credit for everything from a nail file to a chainsaw.

Not quite as fancy as what you fellas have be posting but something I beat together out of a broken car spring I found along the road.
    Made it many years ago.
The sheath was given to me.

ID:	256901I like it elmacgyver0. A honest, no nonsense fighting knife. Car/truck springs make good knives, but so does lawn mower blades. I have a used lawn mower blade in my reloading room and it just might turn into a couple or 3 knives. I just haven't made up my mind as to what kind yet. I have made a few knives in the past. The one pictured below I started around 1976 and there is a small flaw in it and I just can't bring myself to finish it yet. It just bugs the heck out of me. I don't have any power equipment so I have to work with hammers, files, and it is a slow process. The pictures will be added in a few minutes. Click image for larger version.

Keeping it gun related, I have this civil war era navy Plymouth rifle. It uses a Bowie knife bayonet designed by Admiral John Dahlgren. I fearsome thing it is.
