Becaware of the dust involved with handling dross. Most of my dross was actually pretty rich in tin and lead. I reintroduced it to the pot and fluxed well. What I skimmed was then tossed onto hardware cloth insert in a metal bucket. Waste went thru and copper remained on the screen. I haven't tried selling it yet. The pass through dross also made lead plates that could be picked out and reused. Greatly reduced the waste.

I had a couple 5 gallon buckets of lead from behind our pin table. When melted, that stuff produced a 2 inch layer of dross on the melt from the wood, plastic, and gravel in it. For that reason I dumped most of it back where I got it. That was too much toxic waste for me. It was impossible to work with that without raising a cloud of dust at some point in the process.

Seems like a lot of trouble for not much more money. I’d take what I could get and move on.

I kept one bucket, about 100 pounds, and put the rest back where I got it. When I see clouds of dust I get paranoid. (What better way to introduce lead into your body? Just snort it!) That's why I won't use a case tumbler.
