I recently had to pull nearly 100 .38's that I'd accidentally filled with the wrong powder! None of the pulled boolits showed any signs of scraping and only two couldn't be re-used (my home-made puller put a couple of gouges in them).

Yours have been very neatly cleaned of coating. Very impressive job.

I pull lots of Hi-Tek coated bullets from 9 mm cased to check on the amount of swagging from different head stamps of brass so I don't end up shooting under size bullets. I use a RCBS kinetic bullet puller.

I have never had any Hi-Tek coating removed when pulling the 9 mm bullets or any other Hi-Tek coated bullet.

It’s because I over crimped. I made adjustments to my setup and it turns out my 32-20 cowboy expander actually is an M style with a small step, I just wasn’t deep enough. So I went deeper on that and lighter in the crimp to remove that, now all is good.
Makes me wonder about the roll crimps I put on the 45lc though, I better check those more closely.

Was pulling some stuff Monday, one 40sw with HITek. No coating on the bands! Just slight tamper crimp but case tension too much - moved some Pb when seated. Old liquid green 2 coats. OF course no sign of crumbled HiTek.
    Whatever!
