    Javelina Replacement

I have used the Javalina 50/50 for my entire casting career. I have about 15 sticks left. When its gone, what is a good drop in replacement. It was the first and only lube I ever tried. It simply works.

    Elpatoloco,
    welcome to the forum.

Glenn's 50/50 is about as close as you will get to Javalina 50/50, I bet you can't tell the difference.

Is this sold in a store or made by someone here?

Javelina was commercially made many years ago. Still have some.
The Alox used then is no longer available i believe is why it isn't available now.

Yes the 2500+ by White Label is going to be as close as you can get. Having used both, I think 2500+ is even a better lube IMO.

I also have used javelina since the late '60s. It has been a wonderful lube for everything cast bullet from 300 fps upwards of 3000 fps. With Javelina lube I have never had any leading and it always gives the best in accuracy. I conducted an extensive HV test of 13 different lube a couple years back. The results were chronicled and posted on this forum in the RPM Threshold series of threads. I am down to my last 6 sticks of Javelina myself saving it for my CBA match bullets.

While I've not found any lube better than Javelina I have found a couple lubes "as good" though. The White Label NRA 50/50 lube is as good as is 2500+. More and more I am just using 2500+ on all my rifle bullets and find it is excellent on pistol bullets as well. For a few years I've used BAC on all my pistol bullets but I'm down to my last tube of BAC and will switch to 2500+ and see how it does on 300 fps to 1500 fps cast bullets in handguns.
