    Colt Commander Dating

How can I find the manufacture date of a Colt Commander? The first 2 letters of the Serial Number are CJ if that helps. Thanks.

I have had tremendous luck using the Colt web-site, "type in a s/n and get the date" app. It may be found at https://www.colt.com/serial-lookup . Good luck; if this does not work for you, there are others available, including Colt's own archive service, which may be rung at (860) 554-8088.
    Hope this helps!

    I never dated a Commander..
Got a .22 .30 .32 .357 .38 .40 .41 .44 .45 .480 or .500 S&W cylinder that needs throats honed? 9mm, 10mm/40S&W, 45 ACP pistol barrel that won't "plunk" your handloads? 480 Ruger or 475 Linebaugh cylinder that needs the "step" reamed to 6° 30min chamfer? I once dated an Officer's model... (until I found out she was that ) Bion, too, she was into horses -- rode English -- but had no colts... (Rule # 327: Never date anyone who's SO has power over you)
