    Nice looking work.There have been a few factory rifles that had laminated stock. I like natural wood and bluing, but have a new Boyds' in laminated blue that I really like.
    I would love to have the talent you do for engraving and carving.

    Thanks. Never did any carving before. I just said a prayer and went for it. Kind of a learn as you go thing.
    One good thing about turning old is you can always use that for an excuse if you mess up

    Started life as a shot out 7mm but is now a 30/40 Krag with a 24 inch Palma style barrel.
    Now need to work on loads, have some WC8772 I want to try.

    As far as I have am so far. Trying to decide if it needs anything more.
    Suggestions more than welcomed. Checkering, basket weave etc. what do you think.
    Only took me 3 months to get this far.

    Maybe a little checkering on the forearm, but not too much. Even a little might take away from the great work you've already done.

    Isn't it pretty heavy? I made a butt stock for a break barrel shotgun from hard maple once. Turned out to be very heavy. Ended up boring several holes under the butt plate to lighten it up.
