    Mihec 502-600

Dose anybody have any experience with this boolit? I am new to the 500 i just got a S&W 10.5 performance center. I am looking at this one or maybe a 440gr. I cant find any load data on this boolit. Also is a plain base a good idea with this one. I like the idea of plain base if i dont get leading and accuracy dose not go to crap.

Holy cow. I had no idea Mihec makes one.

I've been looking at the other makers heavy 500's for a long time, they are always out of stock.

I will order one today and get my Quick Load working for loads. I think Vihtavuori N110 and/or 3N37... they work for 400 grainers. Got an LBT 400. I also shoot NOE NLG 300 @ 1600 fps but well, the big one is here now.

Thanks a lot for the heads-up,big is good!

If my memory serves me well, Miha made few; 385grs, 400grs J.Ross Alley cleaner, 502-440 Keith (pictured), 600 T-Rex and 700grs Grand Canyon.

Well I thought I'll get my 600 next week... now look at this:

My mold got shipped 16 minutes after I placed my order. Ten minutes after that DHL informed me with both email AND SMS that my order will be delivered on friday. Being wednesday, day after tomorrow that is.

Insane. I'll get to shoot these this weekend.

Amazing isn't it. My last 3 molds from him (they seem to multiply) I have recieved in no more than 5 days. 1 mold took 4 days from order to DHL pulling up in my yard. That's a few thousand miles in a few days. DHL has stepped up their game! While an order from Brownells travelled up and down the eastern and midwestern states for 10 days (this was a UPS to USPS type fiasco). It would have been comical if I didn't really want a particular crimp die that was in that order.

I'm getting spoiled with fast shipping.

I have Ranger Rick's Load Data for the 500 S&W. It does have a 600LFN listed, but I'm not sure about the length of the bullet, or the loaded length and how it will compare to the MP 502-600.

I'm gathering some experience right now. Cast some FN:s, these molds are very easy to cast with, also with HP:s. My current hard alloy just doesn't need a HP to shatter away.

    Mine weigh 613 grains:

Here I'm Quick Loading with Vihtavuori N110. With the usual disclaimer.

I have loaded cast for 500 S&W since 2003 when it came out,I had a 10 1/2 then. There was no published Vihtavuori data so it was all Quick Load. My heaviest bullet has been 450 until now...

I think I'll get 1000 fps with N110 from the 3" snubby 500 tomorrow. For no other reason but pure fun!

Thanks for the Ranger Rick's Load Data. Petander im very curious how this works out for you. I only want one style of boolit and i liked this one. Also im curious how the plain base will work out. I would prefer that over a gascheck if it dosent lead and accuracy is good.

    I only have one GC mold , a 425 LBT. Now three others, 300, 450 and 615..

Now that I'm coating my bullets there's no need for a GC because of leading. I haven't done extensive accuracy conparisions with the snubby 500 but PB seem to shoot fine. My 300 NOE HP PB NLG goes 1600 fps from the snub.

Gotta cancel my loading/range/chrono trip,a nasty cold is about to hit me. Voice gone, joints hurt... Well there's no Sun so chrono wouldn't work anyway. Summer please...

These dropped .5015. After coating these are .5035, I used too much coating by mistake. I sized a few coated ones to .501, it went as usual using a Lee die.

First test 1100 fps muzzle velocity / 3" barrel. Chrono reading is @ 5 meters.

I knew this will shoot high so I chose 10 meters only to "group". I was in bed for five days, heavy fever, first day up now so this is not what the bullet is capable of,neither me. But I did get the grouse.

A 10 1/2 barrel should give 1400 fps with this load. Good for squirrells and other small game.

Really cool. I think it has potential. I ordered a mold 2 days ago and it has shipped, but i wont get it as fast as you. It been a couple years since i got one of mihas molds and it takes at least a few week to get to the western part of the USA. I did get the plain base mold.

What was recoil like compared to a 440 load?

Heavier, you will notice the difference. But I want more.

I emptied the pot by casting,it's a hard alloy. Put pure lead in. Tomorrow I'll cast RB:s AND try this with pure and HP pins.

    I wish I still had a 10", too.

I think this is about a reasonable max with N110. Extremely small velocity spread, N110 likes full cases.

1200 fps at the muzzle, this is a five meter m/s reading.

Recoil is starting to get ridiculous.
