Looking for some published data for the 327 with LIGHT BULLETS.

I ran across a article in Shooting times and some Of the loads seem way off.

10g Unique for example. That FILLs the case and even that lil 60g compacts the powder.
85g in two other manuals calls for 6.5 & 6.7 as max for that weight. Then a 100g is 6 g.

Yikes, even if it's true, 150 fps extreme spread. And all that fast powder plus a featherlight bullet only beats the 100 grain factory load by 150 fps. I don't know what WAP powder is, but 60 grain bullet at 1861 fps through a 3" barrel sounds just like it will WAP some small game. That must be 2000+ from a full size handgun.

Well I learned something new. Apparently Winchester action pistol powder was only around 3-4 years in the mid 90's. There is a rumor that Ramshot Silhouette is the same, or very close to the same powder. I believe I even have a pound of Silhouette.

I can only imagine the rifle. The Federal 100 grain American Eagle runs about 1650 fps in my 5" GP100, and 2150 fps in my 16.5" Henry. You could potentially have a 2500 fps load with that 60 grain. That's right up there with 22 K Hornet.

I was thinking exactly the same. Gives the Hornet a run for its money with a ton more diameter!!!

Think I’m gonna load two pcs at 7g and work up two PCs at a time to see how far I can go. (W/60g GD)

I’m going to be following this thread with great interest... my research has all been so heavily skewed toward heavy bullets that this will be a whole new train of thought for me. Keep those reports (with actual loading and range data) coming!

I agree, I have never really been to interested in light bullets in this cartridge, but maybe I have missed out on some good stuff. Thanks for posting this.
