    WTB 98 Mauser firing pin

Need a 98 Mauser firing pin for a project. Can have a broke off nose as I will need to remove this anyway. If someone has one and does not want a arm and leg for it let me know.

    .

FWIW, given that there are several different variations in FP's for Mauser 98's, you might want to specify which M98 you have, and maybe an FP length.

    .
For intermediate length 98 but not really necessary because I will to shorten it for my project no matter which 98 firing pin.

I sure hope you meant "intermediate" length. The other would be kind of an intemperate reply.

Such as a Yugo 48 or Mexican Model 24 Mauser? (Neither really a 98, but they all take an intermediate length pin)

You might want to look in this catalog page and measure your old pin and see which one you really need...

If it's a Mauser 48, the firing pins for those seem in pretty short supply now. Numrich/Gun Parts Corp has a reproduction pin available.

Well, now you have narrowed it down to 2 firing pin designs -

    2) Mauser M-48 Yugo Also M-24 Mexican
    7.24" total length, Front 2.015, Rear 5.225

    3) Mauser M-1910/36 Mexican
    7.036" total length, Front 1.730, Rear 5.306

If you can find the actual model of your Mexican mauser (on receiver), or you can measure the rear section of the firing pin (which should not be broken off), you may be able tell potential sellers if they have the right pin.

    Good luck, garrisonjoe

98 Mauser 1910 Mexican but really does not matter.
Length is not really important because I will have to shorten the front no matter what.
A Standard length will work just as well .

Try Sarco or Numrich. I thought I had a broken one and I do but I cut both ends off and made a sweet cold chisel out of it. I think I have a 93 but I’ll keep it for a spare for my 1916. You can now say “ thanks for nuthin!”

I have one from a brazilian large ring. It has a broken tip. It's yours if you want it.
