    Help with rifle values

Friend is selling some of his rifles.
Getting to old to do much hunting.
I'm not a hunting rifle collector, so not all the up on values.
    They are all steyr mannlicher.
Three mannlicher stock, one short rifle stock.
    Good condition.
Any suggestions on where I might get some idea as to the values?????

I did a quick gunbroker search and came up with $2500 for the Luxus.
Finding the right buyers is probably more important than guessing at value for expensive guns like these.
So, if you are not in the Biz, it'd be wise to hire someone in the Biz.
    that's my 2˘

Simpson's has a handful listed for sale. Their prices could be used as a starting point, but you have to remember these are their for sale prices. Location and demand are going to be big factors here, especially if he's looking to sell local.

My Blue book 36th addition has this:

    Model "M" 30.06.......100%=$1500.....60%=$540 Last MSR $2250
    Model "L" 308...........100%=$1500.....60%=$540 Last MSR $2250
    Model "L" 30.06.........100%=$1500....60%=$540 Last MSR $2250
    Luxus 270.................100%=$1750....60%=$650 Last MSR $2950

The 308 might pique my interest if for sale.

I have an older blue book.
    3 years old
Some of the prices in there are so way off.
Didn't know I could look at closed auctions.
    I will check it out.
I deal in old military arms.
With hunting rifles, I've found that if it's not a known brand name, it's a hard sell.
Here, very few people know high quality firearms.

You need to be registered, after you log in, used "advanced" search, click the top tab "completed items", enter make/model in "search words".

Another auction site with sold prices. Keep in mind here that this, I believe, is more geared toward Ohio & one western state sales. I may be wrong on this though.
