Mossberg Patriot Rifle / Wood Stock

Has anyone seen a Mossberg Patriot Rifle with the wood stock they offer?

I have tried serval sources and have not been able to find one.

I have seen them at Sportsmans Warehouse in the past, Both with the 4 round in stock Magazine and the 5 round Detachable Mag.

Nothing against Mossberg, but I shook my head in Academy Sports & Outdoors the other day because the only wood stock bolt action center fire rifles were Mossbergs. And they looked pretty good. I’ve read good things about them but haven’t handled one.

I have bought a couple of Mossberg Patriots with the plastic stock and they are shooters for darn sure. All MOA or better right out of the box with factory ammo.

Several of the on-line retailers I just checked claim to have some in stock. Mine is a walnut stocked 375 Ruger. I like it.

How is the recoil in that rifle which is kind of light for a 375? I ask because when I shoot Buffalo Bore in my Marlin 1895 45-70, I wish my 7 1/2 pound rifle weighted closer to 10 pounds.

I ordered a Super Bantam(youth) 7mm08 from Locked,and loaded yesterday .It was $228.they charge $14 to ship,but no tax.They have some nice ones in wood though ,many are out of stock,but some are still available.They are in the mid $350s,and up..You could get a $228 dollar black one,and order a stock of your choice from Boyds,or Richards.

I enjoy my Walnut Patriot 22" bbl in 6.5 Creedmoor. Had to replace the no doubt inexpensive scope that came on it, with a 6.5-20 Vortex then on sale at Midway. Favorite load is WMart Winchester 125 grain SoftPoint. With that it shoots ~1.1" for 5 at 100 yards, happier if not shot in rapid fashion, though. S&B 140 gr fmj around 1.5". If you get a Patriot Walnut, wishing you good luck.
