    Just go to Goodwill and get a heavy duty Stainless steel pot, about 12" across at the top. It will hold about 150 lbs and be easier to ladle out of.

    And even if "sun dried" only put the scrap into an empty pot. Any moisture hidden in the scrap will cause a steam explosion if submerged in molten lead, NOT something you personally want to be within 25 yards of, and not good for the ceiling, floor, walls and equipment where you melt, unless you like the disco glitter look.
