More details on what is happening would probably help? Perhaps some pictures of the locking lugs if they're not latching?
I'm learning little bits about the T/C receivers. There are more vintages than I realized. Seems like the 195k SN range was one of the big dividing points. I just put a barrel from an earlier number and put it on a later number. It went on and closed fine. Problem was it wouldn't open. Had to take out the trigger group and pry the locking bolt open. My barrel was an older 357 Herrett with a single piece locking bolt putting it on a 400k series SN receiver. I think any of the single bolts need to be replaced with split ones for later numbered receivers.
Does your frame have a solid locking lug or split(2 piece)lug? While I have not had a barrel that wouldn't lock up, I have had one that wouldn't open. There are numerous comments out there, on the net, on fixes & causes.
