    Cast bullet load 7.62x54r

Here is what I have. I casted lee 155 grain bullets that I coated with Hi-Tek & gas checks. The powder I have on hand 3031 & 4064.
At this point I will be shooting 100 yard max. Can these powders work well with this combo. What load should I start with.

Sounds like you need a Lyman Cast Bullet Handbook 4th Edition. I would start with their recommended starting load.

Yes, 3031 will do well. Somewhere between 32 and 36 grains should be a sweet spot. Be prepared for the rifle to shoot low, at least, that was my experience. THE M-44 that I had liked 35.5 grains with a 311-291, slightly heavier boolit but the only 30 cal mold I had at the time that cast large enough to fit the .313 barrel grooves. Check your rifle’s bore before loading a bunch, though, the bores on those very considerably, from .308 up to .315.
