All my slug loads are loaded up to the payload on a machine. Then insert the slug and whatever below it, and then roll crimp.

BPI has some neato Wooden Loading Blocks you can use so everything stays upright. Get 2 so you can run the hulls across them.

I normally wouldn’t give two poops about worrying with 2 1/2” hulls just shoot 2 3/4” handloads . But I have a kinda rare circa 1894 Parker Grade 1 top lever 16 gauge 30” hammer gun on the way . And it cost me a bit . So since I already have hulls why not load uhm and err on the side of caution . I was 200% early last week that my little Parker 28 would do the dove opener this year but this hammer gun might just change that depending how it feels when I throw it up . The hammer gun is choked IC/M .

I just use an antique shot shell reloader roll crimper that screw clamps to table top I think it was like a $5 off eBay but I like the looks of that home made wood clamp if I had to use a drill mounted roll crimp

I too made up the wooden one first one broke at the solid end there was a void in the plywood, So I made another checking the wood better. Then I remebered the cartridge fuse puller laying in the drawer. Dug them out and tried them they work, I figure if they don't grip tight enough I can glue strips of thin leather or rubber in the jaws to apply more pressure.

They only cost a couple of dollars and come in plastic, fiber material. Electrical dept @ Menards,Home Despot or Highes(lowes)

In our area "Round fuse pullers" The bigger stores has the in different diameters but 3/4 inch are common.
There used to be round fuses 1/4" small up to 2 inch industrial types.. Many farms still use boxes made 100 years ago.
